Water Wheel Falls Hike

This is a 1.6 mi out-and-back trail that follows a creek. The trail is moderately difficult and definitely not stroller friendly. You can check out pictures and a great review here:

We are going to take Hike Route #1 mentioned in the Phoenix with Kids blog post. This route has a hike up a steep hill and many deep water crossings. Last year we had an adult in the creek to help everyone across the creek. But that’s part of the fun!

If you do have younger kids and would like to take the easier route (Hike Route #2) and meet us at the waterfall, feel free! You do park in a different parking lot if you choose to do Hike Route #2, please check the details carefully before going.

This hike is SLIPPERY with lots of smooth and slick rocks. Hiking shoes definitely recommended. I wore regular sneakers last year on this hike and slipped so many times I lost count.

Parking is $10/car, exact cash only. You grab an envelope from the main sign (next to the restrooms), fill out the form, and then put half the form on your dashboard, and put the cash/envelope in the box. Let’s meet at the parking at 10 AM and hike together.
