Scottsdale Children’s Business Fair

Empowering Young Entrepreneurs

Childrens Business Fair Photo

What is the Scottsdale Children’s Business Fair?

The Scottsdale Children’s Business Fair is an annual event designed to inspire young minds and spark their interest in entrepreneurship. Children ages 6 to 14 are given the opportunity to create and launch their very own small business at our 1-day fair.

Past businesses have included handmade greeting cards, marshmallow shooters, unique jewelry, seasonal crafts, and delicious baked goods. The possibilities are limited only to what children can create!

FAQs

The fair’s date/time and location are subject to change every year. Please check the application website for the most up-to-date information.

Children who are ages 6 to 14 on the date of the business fair can participate.

We will collect a $20 booth fee from all accepted businesses. After all applications have been reviewed and decisions have been made, an email with payment details will be sent out. All accepted businesses must submit the fee by the deadline to hold their booth at the fair.

How many businesses will participate in the fair will depend on the venue. In the March 2025 fair, we accepted 30 businesses.

Application must be submitted online. Please submit one application for each business. Children working as a group should submit one application that includes each child’s information. While groups are allowed, note that due to space restrictions, no more than 3 participants per business can sit at the booth at the same time (plan to have the children take turns sitting at the table).

No! While Scottsdale Homeschoolers is hosting and organizing the fair, anyone can participate in the Scottsdale Children’s Business Fair.

Parents of younger children may sit in their booth, but the children are responsible for setup, sales, and customer interaction. This event is designed to give children a taste of selling a product. Please let them have that experience.

Parents may help their child fill out the application, if necessary, but we expect the parents to have thoroughly discussed the business with their children, including product idea, cost of production, and marketing plan.
